The Hunt is Over!

We have found the perfect house! It took looking at tons of other houses and really looking at what we wanted to spend, but we have found it. Offers and counter offers went back and forth and we found out on Saturday that the house is ours. We were at my Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed's house in Pennsylvania when we found out that we got it. We are very excited, but a bit stressed out about what we will have to do in the next few weeks to get to closing.

The house is located in North Smithfield, RI. It is about 15 minutes north of my mom and dad. It will take Jason about 25 minutes to get to work. The house is a 4 bedroom cape/colonial. (It's listed as a cape in some listings, colonial in others- it has attributes of both.) On the main level, there is a kitchen, with pantry that holds the sink and dishwasher. There is also a living room, dining room, small bedroom, and lavette. On the second floor, there are 3 bedrooms and a full bath. The basement is unfinished, but has a stall with a shower curtain with a toilet behind it and a stand up shower that is open to the rest of the basement. This will be helpful when the kids come in all muddy or are playing in the yard and need to use the bathroom.

The house was built in 1900 and has a 2 car garage behind it. The house has 1700 square feet and the lot is 10000. Seems big, but with the driveway taking up most of the free space, we will have to do some creative fencing to give the kids a safe place to play. Across the busy street from us is the Woonsocket High School football fields, even though the high school is 15 minutes away. The kids will be able to go over there to throw some balls run around (with adult supervision, of course, to cross the busy street.)

The best part of the house is the 3 season room off the front of the house. It has nice pergo flooring and will be a nice place to hang out in the summer, with the ceiling fans. The kids can use it as a play room or we can use it as a place to get away from the kids, lol! The house has hard wood floors throughout and we are just really excited!

If all goes well, we could close as early as May 22. I can't believe how quickly it can go! Once we are in, we'd be happy to have any one come visit us. There will be plenty of room and we'd love to have you!
