Homeowners at last!

We are officially homeowners! As of 4:30 Thursday afternoon, the house on Smithfield Road belongs to the Karren family!

Closing was much easier than I thought it would be. There were tons of papers to sign, but overall an easy process. That is- once they told us how much to get the check for! We finally got a closing time for 3 pm, but didn't get the check amount until 2:10. Jason rushed to the bank to get the cashiers check and made it to Warwick a little after 3. He walked in with the sellers and our realtor.

The sellers were pretty nice. They were in a tough spot. Sold the house for less than they owed, but had to sell because his job requires them to live in the town he works in. We had a nice chat while they signed their stuff and found out a little about the neighborhood. Apparently one of the houses next door has some kids, so maybe the boys will be able to make some friends close by.

Dillon is officially 6! The cupcakes are made for school in the morning. I just have to add the buttercream frosting after he goes to school. Gilbey and I will bring them in at snack time and share them with Dillon and his classmates. The dining room is getting there. Some of the junk will invariably make it into Gilbey's room with the door shut to get it finished in time, but hey! That's how we roll here.
