February 2011

February has flown by.  I am happy that there is only one more day left.  Meaning we are one day closer to spring.  The snow this winter never seems to stop.  Friday, we had rain and by the end of the day, I could see green peaking through.  Then, Saturday morning, we woke to about an inch of snow.  This morning, we woke to another 3.  We are all ready for it to stop.  I am ready for the 6 feet snow banks in my yard to melt away.

We had a few days off this past month or so.  Snow days, professional days, and we are just finishing up February vacation.  The kids have had lots of adventures and lots of fun.  Here is some of what we've done.

At the end of January, the kids participated in their first Pine Wood Derby.  Both kids came home with 3 blue ribbons.

During a professional day, I took the kids up to Boston to the Children's Museum.  They had a blast.  We took the T (Boston's subway) into the city and has lots of fun.  We even ended up running into Gilbey's best friend Sammy and her family while there.  Here are Gilbey and Dillon on a contraption that they used their own strength to raise themselves up in the air.

Gilbey digging in the sand.

Anneke relaxing in an airplane while the boys navigated around the world.

And the boys doing some hefty hauling.

And some random pictures of Anneke from this month.  Here she is talking up a storm.

I laid her in the chair for a minute and came back to her asleep with her hand in the air.  I thought she was so adorable!

And here she is having some tummy time and laughing up a storm.

This past week was vacation week and after a couple days of playgroups with some friends, we headed to a local indoor playground for some fun.  Anneke had a blast in the saucer they had available.  She was very intent on the toys around her.

We must have tired her out.  She got a good nap in while the boys were playing.

Gilbey and Dillon loved playing with the bunnies that were there for the day.

And Gilbey tried to pull at my heartstrings and talk us into a puppy.  They were cute, but way too much work for me!
