March- mid April 2011

So, another month (and then some!) has gone by.  Anneke is growing by leaps and bounds and her personality is definitely coming through.  She is a sweet, sweet baby, calm, happy, and easy to please.  She is always up for a good laugh.

Anneke's big accomplishments this month include rolling over!  Almost as soon as we put her down on her back, she is back on her tummy.  It's amazing how quickly she can flip over.  Coming back the other way is taking a while, but I have seen it happen once or twice.  Before too long, I think she'll be quite competent at both directions and I'll have to get on baby proofing our house.  She is also sitting for a few seconds at a time when placed.  Her trunk control is getting better by the day and I imagine she'll be sitting for longer periods of time soon.

Dillon had his Blue and Gold Banquet this month for Cub Scouts and received his wolf badge.  His den is now working on getting belt loops and arrows.  Don't ask me what they are, scouting is something that Jason and Dillon get to do.

Dillon also advanced in his martial arts class.  He is now a yellow belt.  The dojo he goes to offers Motobu Udundi, which is a rare form of martial arts straight from Okinawa, Japan.  The sensei trained in Japan and goes back for more training every few years.  He is really enjoying it and I see it helping him in his everyday life.

Gilbey is also moving up in his swimming class.  He will move up to the independent swim class following our spring break.  He is doing very well and is able to swim across the shallow end of the pool without his bubble (although he does need a lot of encouragement!)  This next class will begin to work on basic swimming technique and help Gilbey become a more confident swimmer.

We head to Pennsylvania next week for April vacation.  We are looking forward to spending time with GG and Aunt Jayne, Aunt Mary, Uncle Ed, Jen, Anthony, Liam, and the newest cousin, Joergen.  We are also going to get down to Baltimore to see Aunt Sharon, Uncle Chuck, Laura, Aunt Claudia, Neil, Alison, Steve, Lilly, and Emily.   Jonathan will also be on hand and we'll get to meet his fiance, Eszter.   Along with seeing lots of family, we're going to head to Gettysburg for a day and maybe Amish country for another.  Another one of our action packed vacations!  We are really excited.

Here are some pictures from the last month.  Enjoy!

Jason is already getting Anneke interested in Jeopardy!

 Nom, nom, nom.

Following is Jason's attempt at documenting the roll over.

Dillon really enjoys reading, even at the dinner table!

Excuse the messy face, I think we had spaghetti for dinner.

Daddy and Anneke were tired, so they took a nap while the boys and I played.

I thought this was pretty fun to walk in on- the boys were playing the DS and Anneke rolled over to see what was going on.

See you next month!
