The Buick died this weekend. Brian and I were driving up to the church for a spaghetti supper and the car slipped out of gear and wouldn't go back. As we sat on the side of the road waiting for AAA to come with the tow truck, we had a laugh about how long it would take my mom, who we were following, to realize we were stuck. Turns out it takes about 20-30 minutes for her to realize someone is missing.
Jason got to us right as the tow truck was finishing up. He rode in the tow truck and we met them back at my mom's house, where the car sat until Monday when I was able to get Aamco to come tow the car to their shop.
We should be getting the car back on Thursday, with a totally rebuilt transmission, warranteed for a year. And... it is only costing us our entire tax refund to get the Buick back to life!
On another note, you may have realized that the name of the blog has changed. My mom pointed out that people already have a hard time spelling Gilbey as it is and that we always have to let people know that Gilbey is his full name. So, we changed it from Dillipop and Gilbert (which we do call him sometimes) to Dillipop and Dobie, which is how Gilbey refers to himself. It's pretty cute.
