Dillon has had a great week, filled with some fun firsts.
While getting ready for school yesterday, he was sitting in front of the heater getting dressed. I told him to start putting on his shoes, so he could go with Daddy to school. A couple minutes later, Jason and I heard Dillon exclaim, "I tied my shoe just like Papa does!" (Papa does 2 bunny ears and a criss cross apple sauce, instead of 1 bunny ear and around the tree that most normal people do.)
He did a great job and was able to finish it off with a double knot.
Dillon also brought home Clifford to spend the night with him on Tuesday. Clifford brought games, puzzles, and books with him. Dillon spent the afternoon playing Bingo, doing puzzles and playing Hide the Clifford with Gilbey and Zack, our downstairs neighbor. At bedtime, Dillon wanted to read one of the stories.
He read almost the whole thing to Jason! It was amazing to see him reading a book with such little help. I knew he could read some words, but I didn't realize how far he has come since starting kindy this year. Soon, I will have an independant reader!
And for those who were wondering... Papa was able to fix the vacuum and it's been in constant use for the last 2 days. It joined Gilbey in bed at bedtime and came to swimming this morning, where it waited in the locker room while Gil and I swam. It also rode in the car all day, while Gil and I were running errands. Gilbey was very happy to see it back in our apartment and in full working order.
